Experiment with the different blending modes, and make alot of new layers for a good effect, (i used 4 layers)

Stepping Stones Open Day - 10th November

There will be an open day at Stepping Stones on Friday 10th November, to open the new mezzanine floor. The floor will be opened by Jeremy Hunt MP, and other business officials. I have been tasked to design the front of an invitation, which is here ...

This post will updated with any progress gained :)

Counciling Online ?

It has been brought up in school in the last few days, that instead of meeting every week for half an hour, how about outside of school ? and more importantly how about whenever we like ?

Technoology like this has beeng for years, yet schools have never seized the initiative to do so, so at Stepping Stones, we have brought about school council meetings with Skype 2.0, which is not exactly brand new technology, but serves its purpose ... i guess

Skype can be used not only in audio-chatting your 'buddies' but also make calls to other telephone numbers ... so you can call home from your Mac! (P.S - You may have noticed, im biased towards Mac's :D ) ... But there is a downside ... credit is needed to make calls .... and guess what credit costs ! - audio chats to friends or 'buddies' are free ! -

B.A.F.T.A Event 2006

It all began Sunday afternoon/evening, when we arrived at London. After a 60 minute + journey from Haslemere to London Waterloo, We had finally arrived at our Hotel and just set down our bags, when it was time to leave for the B.A.F.T.A dinner event.

After a rather "gourmet" dinner(i use the term loosely :p ), it was time to set up our iBooks - or Macbooks for some - for the next day, before retreating to the local Starbucks, then back to our rooms for the evening.

The next day, I was woken abruptly at around 7:00M AM, and was told to go to breakfast, which consisted of either a Continental or English breakfast. After a quick breakfast, we got rushed off to B.A.F.T.A building, a few hundred yards up the road, where when we we reached it, hurried upstairs and awaited the first visitors - *EDIT - I will post one of the items i was showing later on!

How It All Began ...

It began with a domain name, late one summer’s eve. An agreement was made on a name, and from that moment forth, I had gained unlimited customisability on my very own blog site. It initially opened as a default page with a very basic layout, but with the right programs and knowledge, multiple web graphics were easily made and imported.

The reason this blog site was created was to give the viewer an brief insight into what I find interesting and useful. My first piece of content was to show the viewer what DVD copying software gave best ease of use, and functionality.
I gave both pro’s and con’s of the two pieces of software, then an overall view.

Data Protection Act

This week, we have been studying the Data Protection Act discussing the certain rights, rules and obligations organisations take to keep certain information safe.

MacTheRipper ... Is It As Scary As It Sounds ?

Ever wondered how to rip a DVD for backup purposes....?
well... i wondered the exact same thing, so i started up a search and came across 2 programs; MacTheRipper, and Handbrake

First off ... MacTheRipper

Pros: It comes with a manual, and DVD's can be made into a higher quality than Handbrake
Cons: Difficult to use and a confusing interface.

Next Up .... Handbrake

Pros: Easy to use, and a well laid out interface, links to help forums and even a chance to contribute! ;-)
Cons: No Manual!, also, it sounds like a small animal is caught in the slot loading drive, even moreso than MacTheRipper!
